Tasting Notes: Sitting cheek by jowl with Sassicaia and Ornellaia’s vineyards, it should come as no surprise that this wine is an absolute triumph. The best parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon were used and underwent month-long macerations – only possible in truly exceptional years. Fermentation was done in stainless steel before the wine was produced, which lasted 12 months in 500hL barrels and eight months in botti grandi. The fruit has a beautiful, crystalline purity: bright, glossy blackcurrant and vivid black cherry, supported by savoury dried herbs, sweet tomato and earthy depth. This has a roaring Bolgheri soul while retaining sophistication, balanced energy and class.
