Region: Priorat, Spain
Varietal: Blend of Carignan and Garnacha
Tasting Notes: Porrera Vi de Vila shows a medium-high cherry layer with purple tinges and a garnet rim. Intense and deep, with ripe red fruit, black pepper, clove, liquorice and delicate mineral hints. Slight touches of vanilla and toast in the background. Loads of red fruit over a mineral background, notes of dry herbs, hints of spices and a subtle touch of oak. Ripe tannins, rounded by the ageing process, and a fresh acidity give way to a long, spicy finish with some fruity overtones. Lively and full of character. It is a wonderful red wine from Priorat, one of the great wine regions of the world.
