Tasting Notes: NOIR is Escarpment’s new entry level Pinot which is a bright fruit forward wine made for immediate enjoyment. Barrel aged for 11 months. Slightly cloudy red colour with a light red hue. Alluring aromas of violets, ripe cherries and strawberries laced with clove are delivered with plenty of intensity. Hints of sour cherries, forest floor and spicy fresh herbs are also apparent. Delicious ripe cherry and strawberry fruits show terrific power and drive across the palate. Underneath are elements of forest floor, subtle clove and spiced fresh herbs. Bright acidity and polished tannins lead into a lengthy finish that’s quite moreish.
