This harmonious marriage of whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries offers a complex nose of fresh berries and ripe tropical fruits, leading into a palate of apple tart, preserved apricots and aged cigars. The 21-year-old Hibiki offers a wonderful evolution of the style present in the well-loved 12 and 17-year-old expressions. The inclusion of mature whiskies aged in sherry butts and barrels made from rare Japanese oak, brings deep notes of assam tea, sandalwood, walnut wine and incense that are infinitely compelling.
